Again the Kill Switch Confusion - Help Please

I have looked at the PDC and the ASD relay and have no idea where to go from there. I have no idea how to proceed to wire in the switch discussed here. Are there any pictures of this proceedure or any more details available? Thanks for your help.

Use the search drop-down like and look for:

ADE DIY Kill Switch

It is a do-it-yourself security system killswitch that uses a magnetic reed switch. It has wiring diagrams and everything else you need to do it. i don't know the link off the top of my head but if I find it i'll post it here for you.

Thanks for the info. This to me looks very complicated. Jerry mentioned a simple way of the ASD circuit which is what I am looking for. Not sure if there is a simple way but I will keep looking.

If the above mentioned methods are a bit too much of a pain, it might just be easier to wire a switch to your fuse box instead. It escapes me right now, but there is a number for the fuse related to your fuel pump/injector/starter (something like that). Disable it, and the engine will just turn and turn and not start.

Get a switch (single pole, single throw) either push-button or toggle, and wire it to the fuse. Hide the wires in the loom, should be all you need to do.

Hopefully someone else will shed more light on this for you than I can.

Not complicated at all. The ASD thread obviously covers installation of the magnitic switch. You do not have to do all that if you want a simple switch All you need to do is use the diagram to identify the single wire (for your year), cut the wire, splice in lengths of wire to run to a switch in a location of your choice. Done.

If you want the full insallation, and do not want to put it together yourself, Quadratc sells the ASD kit for 50.00 or so.

^^^ x2, just follow the parts for what wire to put your switch into, cut it and run it to both sides of a single throw toggle switch.

--WIRE-----/ SWITCH /------SAME WIRE----------

Simply cuts off the wire, or lets the current pass through depending on OFF/ON. When it is ON, current passes through ok. When it is OFF, no voltage can travel through the wire.

Thanks Neil. I have studied the thread regarding the ASD and you have helped me pinpoint the mental block I was having regarding putting a switch inline. I was looking in the wrong location to cut into the wire. I think I have it now.
