Angry air leaks with 2 piece hardtop...please help!

Ok I'm new here, so if there is a thread about this already, I apologize. But i did do a search! anyhow...I ordered a 2 piece bestop hardtop, with upper doors. And I just had it installed on friday. And there are some major air leaks between the door and the body. It seems to be coming from the slant of the door and body. The shop told me that extra weather stripping would fix it. So I did that and the air noise is still there. I ended up putting on a lot of extra weather stripping and it did no good. Even at 25 mph you can hear the air leak. Does anyone have a similar problem? Or does anyone know how I can fix this?

.....oh and by the way, I had the install done at 4wheelparts in san jose,ca. I do NOT recommend going there for anything. First of all, they called me a week after my order had came in. Secondly, they told me the install would take 1-3 hours. I had an appointment time for 10am. I dropped it off at 10. I called them around 2 asking if it was done. they told me no and when i asked how much longer they thought it would take they would not tell me. The only ride I had back to san jose for the day was at 3pm, since I live in santa cruz. So I was dropped off at the shop around 3pm. At this point they have had my jeep for 5 hours. I waited, and waited, and waited. The shop closed at 6, and I was there until 7pm. They took NINE freakin hours!!Third, they lie. I asked what the hell I was waiting for, and was told that they were just re-tightening the bolts. I walked over to tthe door and saw my jeep still sitting in the parking lot where they had parked it after the test drive. I asked the next guy I saw, what the hell? I was told the bolts were being re-tightened when my jeep is sitting out in the damn parking lot still! Then he quickly walks out into the garage. Last but not least....when they FINALLY gave me my jeep, there was sticker sh*t all over the windows, a million and one dirty fingerprints all over the hardtop, and some chips and scratches on the latches. Before they gave me my jeep they gave me a "pre inspection" sheet on which they had checked off that they cleaned all install areas and what not. I'm still upset

Sounds like a bad deal with those guys @ 4wheelparts. Anyway, no one will ever admonish another is this forum for asking questions that have already been asked. I promise that is our motto.

Anyway, it sounds as if you may be missing something needed for your doors or something maybe. I have never had a hard top, so I don't know.

Can you take pictures?

Too bad about the service. There aren't many places here in the Bay Area to get anything done.

I had never seen the two piece top. Not sure how they deal with those corners on the front piece as they wrap around and over the roll bar and come down to the window curve. Looks like a tough triangle to get tight.

Hell what do I know.. I drive a soft-top YJ and my uppers flap in the breeze at 65! Part of the Jeep ambiance!

here are the only pics i have taken since the hardtop install...

The red arrows are pointing to the spots where the air is coming in from

The majority of the air is coming in in the corners of where the top, and the window corners meet. This is happening on both sides of the top, in the exact same spots.

Hmmm. I do like that top, for a hard top anyway.

I still think a part must be missing. Did you get the top at bestop?

I have no experience with a hard top, but it may be something that is normal. Mine has always had a gap at the uppers with the soft top. I haven't ever thought much of it. Or at least, I don't recall anymore. Unforunately, I don't know anyone who has that same top as you. I still think it is pretty cool, though.

I wanted to help, but kinda in the same boat

I have a soft top & when I put on my soft doors, they have a little "flap" too, but mine is on the door handle side. I guess you didn't have your current problem with the old top?

My old top was a soft top. And yeah, I got used to the flaps and noises with the soft top. But I don't know if this is common with the hardtops. I know it is not going to be completely silent, but it doesn't seem like the air should be coming in like that. I didn't have air coming in like that with the soft top even
