Alternator Housing Cracked

So check this out. My alternator housing is split. The picture shows that the housing is split in a couple different areas. Its possible that some water got in there and froze. Just thought I would share, I'm not worried about it , still works great. I suppose this gives me a reason to buy a nice shiny new one.

It looks like a bad casting to me rather than water getting in there and cracking it. Most likely it has always been there. I would only replace it when the alternator dies.
