Annoying squeaking comes and goes

Sometimes after about five minutes of driving my 06 LJ starts this annoying squeak. The faster I go the faster the squeak. Sometimes it doesn't happen and sometimes it does. I first heard it about 3 months ago but it went away after a day or two. But it's been about a week now and it's not going away. But as soon as I touch the brake it goes away. Any help? My brakes also squeak when I use them sometimes so I need new brake pads. Could this be a cause?

Are your rotors cut? If not, that could be your problem. My brakes and rotors would squeak when I let my foot off the brake. It was embarassing for me since it's my DD and the squeak was so loud that it would echo. I got my rotors cut for 10 bucks (5 bucks a pop) along with replacing my brake pads for $50.

Are you getting any vibration? Mine started doing the same thing plus vibration @30-45mph and it was a U joint

No vibrations. Just the squeaking at random times

Next time it does it, reach down and put it in 4H, I bet it's the centering ball

Does it sound like something off of a video game when you get a coin or something? Like a high pitched kinda noise? And it's when you let off the brakes? Mine does that. :/

Hey booty check at the top of the windshield where the roll bar bolts to the top. I have a 2004 LJ that I bought a year ago and it squeaked terribly. When you would reach up and push it would stop.

I dropped the windshield and found there was metal rubbing metal where the two bolted together. I made a cardboard gasket and slipped it in between. Bolted back together tight and problem solved.

I can relate because it is annoying as hell. Good luck let us know what you find.
