Aux light install assistance

I am installing a pair of Rigid Industries D2 lights on a KC windshield post light bracket. The problem I'm encountering is that the pigtails are too short for me to run the wiring behind a panel without exposing the quick disconnect. I'd like to avoid drilling if at all possible. Any ideas?

Open it up, and make a longer pigtail?

Yeah, just cut, add some wire, and splice the wires.
Use solder and heat shrink tubing or just some crimp connectors.
