My driver side front axle shaft is leaking, and I am getting ready to replace the seals on both sides.
My first question is what's the best seal to replace it with, factory or is there a more heavy duty one I could buy. I have been researching a bit, and found this one on quadratec Original Replacement Parts 8121781 - Inner Axle Oil Seal for 72-06 Jeep® CJ, Wrangler YJ & Cherokee XJ with Dana 30 Front Axle - Quadratec
is that what I need, or is there better? It fits both passenger and driver side, and I'm going to replace both at the same time since its only 5 bucks and you have to take the shaft out anyways...
My next question is about outer axle shaft seals. Is it worth the 75 or so dollars to add these when I replace the inner seals? Just not sure if they actually work or if the factory guard on there is good enough. These are what I have found and am considering purchasing, but would like to know any first hand experience with them.
