Back Seat Comes Loose

On a 1999 isn't the back seat supposed to fold forward but still stay attached at the pivots? If I have it folded forward on a rough road it bounces out of the brackets and flops all over the place. Is this normal? Should I wedge something on each end to keep it from moving side to side?

I think it only folds forward to get things from underneath it and to remove it, not to drive around, mine doesnt want to stay in place when I tumble it forward either.

Yes it should have holes for cotter pins as mentioned above. And it is made to stay folded in the up postion you just have to strap it to the roll bar.

My 98 has a slot on each side of the bar for a c-clip, not a hole for a cotter pin.
