back seat fabrication.

I've finally got the homemade 12" trunk sub box made. a long story short, it fits perfect in the back however, its fitting flush right against back seat. since i'm firing the thing to the front it needs some room to breath. with no place to put the back seat, i'm not gonna dump it. plan on just cutting right into the back of the seat. allowing an inch or two for the sub to breath. has anyone done some cutting on their back seat before? i can sew a thing or two but i'm trying to figure out what to do with it. suggestions and ideas are appreciated!

i've seen the sub put into the bottom of the back seat. but i think this is something totally different. i just plan to cut the fabric, remove an inch or two of cushon with a razor and then sew it all back? its the last part of stitching/using new material that i'm trying to determing what to do with.

i had the same issue when i made the box for my 10"...what i did instead of cutting the seat was i moved the seat forward instead. i unbolted from the factory mounts and drilled holes about 2 inches forward and remounted the seat with new nuts and bolts thru the tub.

mm i was contemplating that route but decided to just tear into the fabric. I used duck tape and superglue to bring everything back together. it works for the time being.
