backspacing

ok, i got my wheels and i don't think that an aftermarket steelie would have the same backspacing as the stock wheel but i just wanna make sure cuz i want it to fit and was wondering if there is any way to measure the backspacing on a wheel...thanks

The easiest way to measure backspace is to lay the wheel face down onto the ground so the backside of the wheel is facing up. Take a straight edge and lay it diagonally across the inboard flange of the wheel. Take a tape measure and measure the distance from where the straight edge contacts the inboard flange to the hub mounting pad of the wheel.
If I remember right my after steelies are 3.75,as are most of them.

yeah, 3.75" backspacing is fine on a 7" or 8" wide wheel. I'm looking at getting some new wheels myself (for larger tires).
