Hi guys I'm sure you are tired of people asking but I'm a little confused.I think rough country says you can run 4.5 bs with their 4" and 33's other lifts say more like 3.75 or 4. I am putting on a 3.5" rancho lift and 285/75/16 so will 4.5 bs be alright? I can't seem to find 16" wheels with less backspacing lots of selection in 15" though.Thanks.
every jeep is different, and thats in the middle, its hard to say. i'd think you'd be ok, but you may have to add a washer or two to your steering stops to eliminate rubbing at full lock
I've got 16x8" wheels with 4.5" backspace. I had 305/70R16 (33x12) Toyo AT's on them with no rubbing (4" suspension lift). I now have the same size Goodyear MTR's on them and have very slight rubbing on the lower control arms at full lock. Haven't put a washer behind the stops yet. You shouldn't have a problem with the 285's. If you haven't already got the wheels, I would advise you to go with 15" wheels...tires are a lot less expensive and there's a better selection.
