Get that Quote in writing. I'll bet they won't agree to that.
Should be $500+ to pull and install. Then it's a rated 4 hour job. Second gear is supposedly hard to find, But it's $100. I would request all
bearings be replace if they are going to open it up. And then get the syncros done too. Might as well get a new clutch While it's out.
If it's the bearing that sits inside second gear that ruined second gear. It probably ate up the main shaft.
Looks more like $2000+.
I could be wrong.... But, I wasn't last summer when the exact same thing happened to me. I saved some coin by removing the trans myself. Still set me back $1,300.
