Ball Joint/Axle U joints

Hi, I was told i needed new ball joints and that since they would be off I should replace the U joints. Does this make sense to do, especially since I dont have much time to be working on my jeep. How much time and money would it add?

Second can I do one wheel at a time to make it more broken up and easier to do on a tight time schedule?

Absolutely you can do one side at a time, no problem. And being as the u-joint would be so much easier to change at that time, I'd probably change it then too. If you do, I recommend the Spicer 5-760x u-joint which looks like the Spicer 297 that is in there now but it's a nice inexpensive upgrade. The 5-760x is more rugged and longer lasting. Moog is a good brand for the ball joints.

MOOG or TRW for Ball Joints and like Jerry mentioned get the Spicer 5-760x it's a nice piece of little insurance & strength.

U-joints are the easy part, Ball Joints aren't too bad either, but are a little time consuming especially if first time doing them.

here's a link to a previous discussion that has the links for the write-up:
