Battery Gauge Dies

Hey everyone. A couple of days ago, I decided to take out my battery and pull out the blower motor to try and clean up a bit. I also unplugged the computer (I think it is, it was the little silver box). I plugged everything back in and got it all back together.

Recently, I'll start up my Jeep and the gauges will be fine. After a few minutes of driving, my battery gauge, and nothing else, will suddenly drop to 0 and my "Check Gauges" light will come on. Everything works fine, like my headlights and radio. The car restarts and starts fine too.

Any reasons this might be happening? It's a 1998, by the way.

Loose battery cable. Remove the cables and use a battery brush on the posts and cable when you replace them.

I just got the battery recently. I'll try with the cables and tell you if it worked.
