Battery keeps dying...

I just got a brand new battery and it died on me also it is backfiring and won't speed up I think it's my distributer but I look at it and looks good idk what els

Dealing with the battery first, is the alternator working? You could have it tested at your local auto parts store to check

Seems like 2 different issues. Test the battery and also check for a draw

x2 on the above. Distributor has nothing to do with the battery.

Battery going dead (not charging) and it not running right could be the alternator. What is the voltage when it is running (preferably using a multimeter at the battery terminals (if not, off the dash)

Idk what it was dont matter now it went out I lost all compression won't start not even if jump towed it home the motor I have I'd done. I got a job in the oil field so I'm going to put a complete new one in seeing how ill have the money know. That way I don't have any more problems with it.
