BDS 2" Springs

Anyone running the 2" spring kit from BDS? If so, how do you like it and was it a true 2" of lift? Also wouldn't mind seeing some pics. Finally think I have this kit picked for my LJ instead of spacers. Thx.

I have the BDS 2" suspension lift and am quite happy with it's performance both on and off the road. One thing to consider is that your LJ weighs more than a typical TJ. Some suspension companies account for weight differences and will offer different spring rates, OME comes to mind. I don't think BDS offers a HD spring line but I might be wrong. In any case, I would contact BDS and see if they make a spring specific to the LJ.

Just got one installed at the jeep dealer. Got 2-1/2" in the back, 2-1/4" in the front on my TJ. Have not gotten back from the shop yet - when they test drove, found driveline vibration, they are changing out 3 driveshaft U-joints. Should be able to pick up tomorrow if no more problems.

I have the 2". I did not measure but you do get more than 2". Do a search on the forum for BDS and you will find no bad posts about ride.

Anyone have pics? If I stay under 3", I won't have to worry about drive line vibes since I have the extra length of the LJ.

I'm installing a 3" bds on my jk today, from what I heard this is a very sound lift, and can't beat the warranty,

Given you don't mess with anything else, you can go 3-3.5 with no major issues. That said...every lj is different and you always chance running into vibes with any mods. The odds are much lower on the lj though.
Mines about 3 in the front and 2 in the back plus body lift. I run a sye only because I have a tt.

Just looked at your profile, you have an lj rubicon, the vibes won't be an issue, no slip yoke and now most everyone on the site will be envious.

I was thinking about getting cam bolts. I wonder why Jeep discontinued installing these from the factory. A couple of alignment shops have suggested them. I have a BB with OME shocks and am looking for 2" springs.

I had the same question when I bought my lift and all of the posts I have read state the cams are not necessary.

CAM bolts have a tendency to adjust out of spec. For a 2" lift, generally your drive line would still be within spec; if not and you get vibes - I'd rather realign my drive line with a few washers dropping my transfer case, else with a motor mount lift or an SYE. NOT with CAM bolts.

I thought the CAM bolts were something to do with tire alignment? Not drive angle.

I didn't know, and the BDS website suggested those since I don't think I have them. But the guy I bought the kit off of, threw the CAM bolts in as part of the package I bought.

I've seen them used in the rear to adjust pinion angle. Not sure with BDS, as I did not get them with my 2" BDS suspension.

I run a set of 2" BDS coils upfront. I have a heavy bumper and winch so I bought a set meant for the slightly heavier XJ. They work perfectly and the spring rate compensates perfectly for the extra weight upfront.
