Question BDS Springs

I am looking at picking up some 2" rear/3" front springs to lift my TJ and level the front . I have a 2" BB and the front rides an inch (ish) lower than the rear, winch and MC fenders, so that's why I am going with the longer springs in the front.

I don't have a tire carrier or hard top and I am looking for feed back on the actual lift provided by the BDS springs. I have read about some springs providing more lift than advertised and want to see how these have worked out for those using them.

I'm running the BDS 4.5" lift coils all the way around on an 06 LJ. When we initially installed them the LJ measured about 4 3/4" over stock in front, and about 4 7/8" lift in the rear. After a few months, and a couple of wheeling trips, they settled down to about 4.5", give or take about 1/8". We've had them on for about 6 years now, and they are about 4 1/4 all the way around, give or take about 1/8".

I'm a big fan of the BDS suspension components. One, they are built here in Michigan. Two, it's really stout stuff. Three, I love their warranty (even though I've never had to use it).

Hope this helps.

Bds front are 158lb/in. Rear are 200lb/in. The rears are a little stiffer, but helps with rear sag when loaded with gear. I have a decently heavy smittybilt rear bumper, and 32" spare on a 15x8 soft 8. I also have a pretty heavy sub box(45ish lbs). It sat about as prefect to level that a jeep can sit. Rode great with my sj hydro's. Also didnt have any vibes. I ran that setup for about 7-8 months. The settled in height ended up 3 1/8" front, 2 1/4" rear. I ended up ditching the rears for some ome HD rears(160lb/in). I wanted the longer free length, and a little more rake. BDS 3/2

The best level ground pics I have. This was before I replaced my hack trimmed flares.

I highly recommend that setup. Some guys like the 3/2, others don't. It worked great for me, and I don't regret it. I was set on keeping my bds 3" fronts, just wanted a little more height out back, and a little lighter spring rate

Thanks Dealer, that is pretty much exactly what I was looking for! Love your rig, gotta love the Patroit Blue ones! I may or may not be partial to that color! I did find out that I can order them and pick them up at a dealer who is not very far from me for free so I think that I'll put in my order tonight. I appreciate the feed back!

Check out 4x4groupbuy.com as well. They are like $105 a pr. I do reccomend a metalcloak track bar for the front with the 3" coils

I have MC Front Trackbar and Upper Rear ACA that were suppose to be delivered today, stupid below zero temps... I have the UCF Ultra High Clearance T-Case skid and needed the ACA for the SYE/CV DS pinion angle adjustment I'll have to do when I do the TT. I did check 4x4groupbuy.com but with their shipping it was actually more than directly from BDS. Hope to get this all done before March and I am planning on doing my 8.8 then see about tires... Still have a few other things to consider before 35s.

Did you order a sye with a premade shaft? If you haven't already bought the shaft, I'd do the sye, and tt first, then measure for the shaft. Do you have any plans for the Novak shifter? Im leaning towards the ucf ultra high clearance, but can't decide between the aluminum or steel. There is a pretty decent price gap, and my rig is pretty light anyways. But at the same time with that mentality, eventually that will lead to an extremely obese rig

Nope haven't done the SYE and CV DS yet, my plan is what you suggested above to install the SYE and measure for the DS. If I do the Novak it will be purely out of need, I'll see where I am after all of this and if I need it I'll do it. I did steel purely from a price stand point under the condition that anything else that goes on will be aluminum (corners,GTS ect...) She will be a bit of a piggy but she'll match her dad

You need the Novak. With as much as that skid raises everything, your stock linkage setup will be all jacked up. Also a mml/bl, or either get the lo-pro mount(or mod your stock one)
