Big Mistake, Think my Transmission is Blown - HELP!

2000 Wrangler Sport: So, I did something completely foolish, and feeling sick to my stomach. Hoping ya'll can shed some light. I am PCSing to VA with household goods and Jeep in tow. At the start of my trip, I secured the front wheels on the hitch, but forgot to let off the parking break and not sure if it was also in gear. Didn't realize my mistake for about a half mile. Back tires worn down and Jeep will not start. I push clutch all the way in, turn key, and there is just a humming sound - think from the starter, but does not engage. I put it in any gear and it rolls as if in neutral.

Clutch feels normal when I push it in. Tried jumping as a last ditch hopeful effort, but useless. Do I have to adk if tranny blown? Any insight GREATLY appreciated, thank you.

If the gear was engaged the clutch would still be fine as its already connected to the engine. I'm not sure about the engine. What I would do:

Disconnect the battery for a while to reset the engine then try to start it, then if that fails jump start, and as a last resort: bump start

I hope that works. Hopefully others can give advice. Good luck!

You didn't by chance put the transfer case in neutral dud you? That would explain the rolling in gear thing. Maybe just extra luck having the starter go out at an in opportune time. Just a thought.

Really? So…if the starter will not engage, the engine needs to be reset?
