Big or Not so Big problem? Clicking Clutch?

Tonight as I took off from home my clutch started to Click.

It happens when I depress the clutch all the way to the floor...right before it gets to its max point, a "click" or "pop" occurs.

Doesnt sound serious....able to drive just fine. It does not do it every time I press the clutch but on the trip to the corner store it probably did it 80% of the time?

Any Ideas?

i think that you're talking about the clutch bypass switch. it keeps the jeep from starting if the clutch isn't pushed in. that's what your problem sounds like to me. watch it see if it gets any worse.

it is a 2006.

It starts fine....I can push clutch almost all the way to floor to shift gears...but when I get past the last 3/4-1 inch is where it clicks

I have the same problem with mine. Every now and then when you depress the clutch to the floor it clicks. It happened a few months ago for a day or two and went away.... and every now and then comes back. Mines a 1997 jeep wrangler sport..

I think the pedal as well. If you look at the pedal underneath the dash there is the actual rod that attaches to the pedal that goes through the floorboard. On this rod there is a little cylinder around it approximately 2 inches in length and right between that and the floorboard there is two washer type items. If I had to guess it is one of these making the noise when it is depressed to the floorboard....possibly getting stuck instead of pushing though?

Dont have a clue...but that is my guess.

Yeah it’s weird, it only happens every now and then, but than again it doesn’t affect the performance of my jeep at all, it’s just annoying because I can’t figure out why it happens

I would look under the dash above your feet for anything at all that mind be slightly binding, slowly go back and forth across the bad spot (without it running) and look with a flashlight.

My wifes truck would do this to me now and again, come to find, it was just the floormat catching the corner of the pedal and slapping back down on the floor

I am positive that it is what I said it was before. It is the rod with all the crap on it right before it goes through the floorboard. Some kind of washer looking thing. Annoying as hell
