Blew out my spider gears...

I DO NOT HAVE MONEY FOR A AXLE SWAP SO PLEASE DONT SUGGEST IT...

ok i have a Dturdy5 and i believe the the Previous Owner changed the the carrier to a chinese carrier for a 4.56 gearing

the carrier has markings of GW and 5138

any idea where i can get spiders for it or get a new 456 carrier?

Some Sahara's came with 4.56's. Maybe search junkyards for one with that ratio and take the carrier out of it. Just a thought.

EDIT: Just kidding. I was thinking of the 3.55. The 4.56 ratio was an option on some 4 cyl autos. Not sure what years though.

Incorrect. Some of the se models came with 4.56 gears. Can't remember the year but you can find the info via Google

Just get any replacement spider gears for a D35.

Here is one such source. Dana 35 Spider Gear Kit 1.5 / Dana 35 Spider Gears (94 & NEWER)

Note that kit is for an OPEN differential. Also, don't replace the carrier. Changing carriers requires re setting backlash.

What's with these damn spider gears getting chewed up? I just replaced mine and I have no idea why they were so bad...must be from the PO.
