Check the resistor relay located in the bottom part of the dash under the steering well

Me to

haven't got to them yet, to many other things to fix. I was looking at the clockspring as the most likely culprit though. I can't find any mention of a resistor relay in the FSM except for the AC.

Hmmm...that might be the one thing that I have not replaced. I put in a new multi-function switch to deal with fog lights turning on by themselves...and also replaced the flasher relay when it went south. Are you telling me that there is some other part of the turn signal system that might break on me?

From the FSM

"Turn signals when in the detent position, are turned off by one of two cancelling cam lobes molded into the clockspring mechanism. The cam lobes contact a cancel actuator in the multi-function switch"

That's why I thought clockspring.

mine did that when my actual turn signal was out, and was just on the side signal lights.

Pull the "Little Old Lady" fuse, then it will stop doing that!

The entire blinker switch that is located in the steering wheel column. It's like $ 34 at your local parts store
