Blower motor has quit!!!

The blower motor has quit in my Jeep and it's pretty damn cold without some heat blowing. It won't work on any setting, any ideas?

First, obvious choice, check the fuse.

+1 on checking the fuse.
If it is the motor try hitting it... sometimes works in my experience.

I used to kick my old PC (few years ago) when it usually froze and it made it work. One time i kicked it so hard the monitor slamed agains the wall and shut off/died. My current computer is up high on my desk and it barely freezes on me so its not torchured.

on the passenger side of the heater assembly there is a 3 pronged plug. it is a resistor assembly that gives you the different fan speeds. pull it out (2 screws) and check for a broken or burnt connection. i think you can bypass it and have only one fan speed, high. i can fool with mine if you decide to do the temporary fix to see hwat has to be jumpered.

assuming tj are the same as yj's

I've banged on it, taken the resistor off and don't see anything burnt, and it still won't work. Anything else I should try?

Ive made em work by pulling them out, adding power, and spinning by hand. Its worth a shot, cuz if its broken you gotta take it out anyway.

Try the relay for the blower motor, it's behind the glove box. A little box with a 5 wire plug on it. Tap on it while the blower is on.

Has it competely quit or does in turn on and off??? Immediate replacement of your jeep blower motor is needed when it does turn on and off, and when there is no airflow even when the blower motor is turned on.

But before jumping to replacement, be sure to identify what is the real cause as it may be due to a blown fuse or bad wiring connection.

Yes, make sure it's bad before you replace it. If you take it out hook it up to a DC power source, I used my Jeeps battery, if it spins (watch your fingers!) then it's still good.
I thought mine had crapped out last year, turns out it was just the fan speed switch itself had melted. From what I've read it's a common problem for TJs.

I went out and bought a new blowermotor after checking everything you have a listed above. fuses and resistors. I even took it by firestone for some other work and had them look at it. they told me the motor went out. i pluged in the new one with out mounting it just to test it first and what do you know it didnt work! put that motor back in the box and it went straight back to napa. The last thing i thought to do was pull the switches out and put a meter to them. Sure enough this was the problem. replaced them with new switches from the dealer for 23 bucks.
