Blown 2.4 in a 2003 wrangler

Was wondering if did a 4.0 swap would I have to change the tranny or are they interchangeable?

Is it a stick or auto? I've the stick on the 2.4 isn't up to the 4.0

Unless you really want to inflict a lot of pain and agony on yourself, just replace the four banger with another one just like it.....or sell it off as is and get exactly what you want.

No the transmissions will not interchange

To successfully pull off a 2.5/4.0 swap in an 03, you will need a like year (or very very close to it) as a donor. You will need it pretty much whole sitting side by side.....or refer to the first paragraph. Been there, done it, won't do it again on an 03

The LS swap is a great one for a jeep, although if you go with a V8 you'll also have to replace the axle. The ford 8.8 makes a great little cheap alternative to the D44. I'd also consider the 5.9 dodge magnum. It's supposedly a little easier than as LS swap.

It would be great if you have a complete donor vehicle.. Makes life easy.

It's at my buddy's shop and he has easy access to motors. He does motor swaps on the side so a motor, harness, and all the other is not hard for him to get
