Body Lift Question

hi everybody, i already have a 4" suspension lift on my 99 tj sport. when i installed that lift, i had some issues shifting into 2nd 4th and reverse so i moved my console back and the problem was fixed. my question is, if i install a 1" body lift, will i have that same issue again with my gear shifter?
thanks

A body lift can cause that problem too but often you can just remove the little neopreme tube meant to hold up the shift boot. That tube can restrict the shifter throw once a body lift is installed so cutting it off, as I did to mine 10-11 years ago, can often fix it. The shifter boot stays up just fine without it. Just lift up on one corner of the shifter boot and then pull it up and out of the way, you'll see the neopreme tube underneath around the shifter rod.

With that off, it's entirely possible. Worst case, you may have to move the console fore/aft a tad which is easily done by just drilling a few new holes for the self-tapping screws that hold the console to the floor.
