Bolt on replacement for nv3550

Is there a bolt on replacement for the nv3550 that is considered as an upgrade?

The NV3550 is a fairly stout transmission. I've seen them bolted up to a GM LS1 V-8 with nothing more than a rebuild.

it is still running but some synchros are going out and some gears are humming, and the famous marble rattle.

I just wanted to see if it is worth rebuilding or upgrading to a better one.

An ax-15 should bolt right in. Not sure I would consider it an upgrade though?

The RSG Terminator would be an upgraded to the NV3550 I would think.

It's hard to beat the 3550, aside from it's inherent noisyness. (Is that a word?)

The only "problems" I've experienced with the NVG3550 (I've had two, one in my ZR2 Blazer and my TJ) are a notchy 1-2 shift, and noisy in neutral. Redline MTL substantially helped both issues. Not trying to hijack your thread, sorry.

good to know, unfortunately we don't have the same oil options here. i wasn't able to find any of the recommended trans fluids that were mentioned on this forum.

I used to deal with high dollar camera gear and ship all over the world. If you need some MTL I'd be happy to order and ship to you on your dime. Ordered mine through amazon.com. Fixed rate USPS global priority would suffice to Lebanon. Probly looking around $90 at most total and you'd be good for however long tranny fluid is good for.
