Cool brackets on rear tailgate?

I was just wondering thise brackets on the tailgate where the bottom of the rear window on a softop went into.
Do you keep those on or remove them when using a hartop?

oh, i know what you are talking about now. ya, you need to remove them when using the hard top. if you don't the rear window won't close and i don't think the top will seat properly.

I don't think you need to remove them. I just got my Jeep and it had a hard top on it and I took it off. The brackets were on there when I took the top off and the back of the soft top fit in them.

x2 I run the hard top winters and soft top summers, never had an issue with those brackets getting in the way.

I took them off. I noticed the rear window shuts further with them off. I was just curious cause I am having a little bit of water find it's way inside through the upper corners of the tailgate where it meets the window seal. So I hope that takes care of it or I will need a new rear window seal.

Ran my hard top all last winter with the brackets in place and had no problems of any type.
