brake light and turn signal issues

98 Wrangler with no owner's manual and I can't figure out which fuse corresponds to the brake lights and turn signals. Bulbs are all good and emergency flashers work fine. Any ideas?

In the fuse block behind the glove box, fuse #2 (20 amp) is the brake lights, and fuse #13 (10 amp) is turn signals. Try cycling your flasher switch on and off a few times. Sometimes the contacts in that switch get burnt a little in the normal position.

Thanks Dennis, that took care of the turn signals, but I still have no brake lights. Any more ideas?

If the fuse is okay, try checking for power at both leads on the brake light switch. The pink/dark blue wire should be constantly hot, and the white/tan wire should be hot when you press on the brake pedal. If that's okay, it's probably a problem in the turn signal switch. If you have power on the pink/dark blue, but it's not coming through, it's either the switch (or maybe the switch out of adjustment).

Be sure and check the fuse with a meter...sometimes they can "look" okay and be burnt out.

What WD says but first see if the center brake light works when you hit the brake pedal. If yes then the fuse & pedal switch are good & the problem is most likely at the signal (m-f) switch or the connector to it.

Good Point..! Forgot about Chrysler's factory installed test lights.
