Brakes not working

So I went to Harlan this past weekend and on the lower rock garden my brakes went out when trying to get in position to help winch a guy out. We chalked it up to driver error even though I felt something was wrong. Later while heading back from lions den it happened again. I checked the brake fluid and it's full. No lines are busted or broken. I haven't been able to recreate the problem at home. Anyone have any ideas? My thought is a master cylinder going bad but I'm no brake expert.

If the brakes "went out" and don't work, then yeah, you likely lost pressure. I would check all over for a leak first.

Check the rear brakes inside the drum as well. The fluid can leak at the brake cylinder on the inside of the drum assembly. If this is where the leak is, there are rebuild kits on the market to get you back in running order quickly.

Hope this helps! Keep us posted.

One day, you will be just a memory for some people. Do your best to be the good one.

Brake pedal goes to the floor with no braking action? If so that's very likely a master cylinder bypassing.

The brakes came back after pumping them a little and I've had no issues since. But like I said fluid is full. I'm not going to bother re doing the rear brakes since my 8.8 is almost done.
