Breather tubes?

Okay so I posted this last week about how I was stuck for about 2 1/2 hours and I am going in monday or Tuesday to get all the fluids changed (took everyones advice)

But I was wondering about the breather tubes. Someone mentioned on the other thread about extending? Or getting breather tubes for my diffs? Is that correct?

And is there anything else I should do to protect the jeep if anything like that happens again.

Thanks!

You should already have breather tubes stock. I know my 03 Rubicon does. You may want to look into a FSM for your Jeep. There's a post called "PDF version of the FSM" posted today that can help you get one. I don't know how to do the link thing so you'll need to look for yourself.

You have breather tubes already, but from what I understand they are underneath the Jeep and extending them to a higher location is a good idea if you drive through water often....

I woulda thought a Rubicon already has extended breathers.
My Unlimited has the front one up by the tranny dip stick and the rear up by the fuel filler.

Oooh, I'm going to have to check to see if mine are extended as well. That'd be cool if they were.

The above is correct, and the one for the front diff is in front of the coolant overflow bottle. It's the one with the little white 1-way valve on it.

Oh, that's right .... the one by the dip stick is the trans breather.
Forgot about the one by the overflow bottle.

And the breather tube for the rear diff sits up in the cavity behind the fuel filler.
