Carrirer Question

I have 3.07 gears right now I can't up grade to 4.56's unless I get a new carrier or a locker that will accept that right? So I was thinking I can just order a couple of carriers for under $200 and then the gears and lunchbox lockers or should I just order a complete f/r rear package w/ everything I need to do the job for about $1200, what would you do? I'm keepin the stock D30/D35 shafts for now but will upgrade later, I know ya'll advise against this but I know a few people that do it and wheel smart with no problems.
