Changing My Fluids

Hey guys & gals need a little help. I'm changing the fluids in my Jeep and was wondering what was best to use. After searching, I read, Redline Oils are good for the tranny. I'll be changing F&R Diffs, TCase, and Transmission Oil's.
98 Jeep Wrangler 2.5L 5Spd Man Trans.

Thanks.

There are so many good oil's, with the age & assumed miles you have, stick with whats available & convenient. I personally use Amsoil products, I also have been the only one to work on my Jeep since it was new. You can spend a lot of money on these Fluids, just ask yourself if your Jeep & the amout of time you plan on keeping it is worth it.

i do 10W40 in the summer and 10W30 in the winter too btw, hurts gas mileage maybe, but i want my baby to run forever

just make sure u get ATF4 or w/e it is w/out sulfur for your Tranny, and then any brand is fine, its a jeep i have a 54 year old one that hadn't had an oil change in 17 years, (and had been running) till i gave it one and it still runs like a top, basicly doesn't matter brand, just get the right stuff, nothing with was or w/e in it and nothing with sulfur in ut

He has the AX-5 5-speed transmission, not an automatic, so ATF+4 is not the right stuff for him. ATF should not be used in either the AX-5 or AX-15 as it doesn't have sufficient shear strength, not to mention it doesn't meet the factory spec either.

Some of the very best lube available for the AX-5 and AX-15 transmission is MT-90 from Redline which is a GL-4 gear lube that won't harm the synchros like a high-sulphur content GL-5 gear lube will. MT-90 is a 75W-90 gear lube which is what the spec is for the AX-5 and AX-15.

x2 on the MT90 by Redline. I run that in my 97 5 speed and it shifts very well.

Times 3 on the MT-90 from Redline, Mobil-1 10W30 in the engine, Mobil-1 ATF in the transfer case, as for the diffs, Mobil-1 works for me in the XJ, TJ's and the ZJ in the front, in the rear of the XJ and ZJ I run I'm running valvoline now, they both have limited slips and both rears say specifically to stay away from synthetics. Running 75-140 with Kendal LSD addtive. The TJ's are Mobil-1 but they don't have limited slips, one has a locker so no clutch packs to worry about.

On the engine oil make sure to use the mobil-1 labled 'High Mileage' it has higher ZDDP levels than the newer mobil-1. Your flat tappets will thank you for it...
Pricewise Walmart has 5 quart containers for like $22 vs the 4 quart containers everyone else sells for the same price.
