changing rod bearings without pulling 2.5 motor

Can it be done? If so what dose it involve? I have a idea how to do It but it nice to hear from some one that has done it before. also I know that the crank might be scored (hope not)and its not the best way to just put bearings in it without Turning the crank but I just want a quick fix till I can get a new motor.
