Do you have a body lift on the Jeep????? I had a chatter until I fixed the transfer case shifter, then it was all gone. Mine felt like it was a tapping noise right by the shifter..

I had a similar problem in my 04 Rubicon. Whenever I slow down or brake, the front driveshaft was rubing the exhaust down pipe. I had to cut the pipe to shorten it slightly so it wouldn't hit anymore.

no lift of any kind, 31 inch tires. nothing special, yet. I have a manual trans and it comes right through the shiffter.
