Check Engine code P0455

Hey all,

I have a 2001 Wrangler Sahara and the Check Engine code P0455,
is poping up on the Diag check. It say's that is might be the Gas Cap,
here's to hoping it will be that cheap.

When I bought it back in Florida, the service tech said, they replaced
the Cat Converter, and the light came on. I was not worried about it at
that time as, Fla does not have a yearly Inspection, but Texas does.

With this being on, I can not get it registered here, until it is fixed.
The code states: p0455 which is EVAP emissions control system leak detected (no purge flow or large leak).

If replacing the gas cap doesn't correct it, start looking at the various emission hoses for dry rot/cracks. Not that uncommon, and it's a cheap fix usually.

Hey Shelby427,

I did that just today, then un-hooked the battery for a bit and
the light went out. I will be driving it to South Houston tomorrow,
about 100 mi round trip, and hope it resets well.

I bought a scanner for just this problem, now I find there is
another code I missed: P0432, I will need to address this problem
as well. I have no idea what it is, but I'll look it up.

Thank you for the info, time to get dirty, inna good way ....

I looked up that P0432 code: Catalyst Efficiency Fault (Bank 2).
Failed Front O2 older (aged) than the rear O2 (O2 is lazy).

Ok, soooo..... Which o2 sensor is it? Front back of left forward ?
Just kidding there. I wil hate to replace all, seeing the price of each.
Bank 2, before or after the Cat?

I just looked over the entire exhaust system:
There are 4, altogether, but they are all in the Manifold, before the Cat,
there are zero after the Cat, which might be the problem, I am not sure.

Two look pretty fried, the two that are lower, away from the block.
