Check Engine Light Advice

Morning guys! New member to the site! From reading through, it seems the more thorough you are, the more help you can receive so I do have a little history...

I have an '05 Wrangler X with a 76k miles.

December '09...Get a CEL, take it to Autozone and get a code P2096, Downstream fuel system 1/2 lean. Guy in there says it might be some contaminated fuel (which was one of the probable causes listed). So he recommends some fuel injector cleaner and says see what happens. I take his advice and also start using Shell gasoline exclusively. After a few days, light goes out, jeep runs fine (even tho it did when CEL was on), so happy driving.

January '11...Little over a year later around the same time, I get another CEL. Take it to Autozone and get the same code P2096. Again jeep is running just fine and nothing seems wrong. I do what I did the year before, but this time the light does not go out. So I reset the code and drove it around for maybe 35 miles and it came back on again with the same code.

So this is where I am. I've never done any self repairs on any car/jeep, but I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. I don't have a mechanic that I use that I'm comfortable going to because honestly I've never had any issues with the jeep to require one. I'm just wondering what you guys think my next course of action should be? I don't want to ignore the problem even though it doesn't seem to be making any difference in performance. Any thoughts/help are greatly appreciated!!
