98 tj driving to work this morning..check gauges light comes on..radio turns off, headlights dim, interior lights dim, wipers slow...oil gauge ok, battery gauge down left by 9 not moving..jeep running fine...could it be battery on way out? I've had jeep for 4 years and never replaced battery..or could it be I need to check the post connections on battery? Made it to work..hopefully I can get to auto zone after..

Sounds like your alternator is no longer charging. Keep in mind, as you plan your day, that it probably won't start when you go back out.

+1 what he said.
On my old Camaro I would start it and pull the battery cable to see if the engine kept running, if it did my alternator was doing something...

That will not work here. The PCM monitors the battery voltage. If the voltage is off, it will not allow the engine to run.

Yes it sounds like the alternator. Get it tested.

Have them test the battery at the same time as the alt while at autozone. 4 year old battery may be about done as well....

I figured something like that was the case. That is why I mentioned the old camaro piece. Well, those goes one of my neat tricks.
