Chirping coming from under driver side!

Just like any older jeep or vehicle for that matter, the body squeeks so on and so forth and this isnt just a normal squeek. I managed to get high centered on a tree a couple weeks ago and since then, I cant engange 4L to save the life of me. I can get it in 2H and 4H just fine. Every once in a while I have to get under it and push the 4x4 lever back into the bracket next to the transfer case. The noise has increasingly gotten louder but it sounds like a Squirl chirping really fast when I speed up. I only notice it in 1st through high 3rd. 4th and 5th dont make a sound but I cant really hear anything with the doors and top off at that speed The chirps seem to be louder and further apart at slower RPMs. Im not sure exactly where the noise is coming from, but when i take it out of gear the noise stops no matter how fast im going. There is a rubber boot that got stripped off the front drive shaft when i landed on the tree which exposed some blue material on the end of it. Not sure if its suppose to be bared and or posibly it got pushed backwards?? any ideas would be awesome.

Hub bearing? Jack up the wheel and see if it is hard to turn while everything is in neutral.

Unit bearing is a good guess, but I'd check the u-joints in the front drive line too. When mine went out it made a chirping sound also.

I'm bettin money on front driveshaft ujoint. They call that sound angry sparrows.

As far as the tcase sounds like you blew out the grommet that holds the linkage into the shift place on the case. Dealerships have the exact grommet for about 5 bucks.

Cool photo but did you drive your Jeep over that tree trunk on purpose?

The tree was up about three feet higher than that and I was pushing it over with my bumper when my front left tire grabbed... the tree rolled over and i kind of followed suit... not willingly haha.
Ill go to my local dealer today and see what they have for the transfer case then. with my lil 2.5l four low is all i gotz! >.<
