Cig lighter

My cig lighter doesn't work anymore in my 2000 Sport. I looked for a fuse to replace, but I can't see any that need replacing. Any suggestions?

If you've looked behind the glove box and checked all the fuses there, maybe it's just a bad lighter. They go out after a couple years of use.

Can you try a cell phone charger to see if it's the lighter or the plug?

I believe the lighter fuse is in the under-hood fuse box

I Know where the fuse is

Look behind the glove box mine blew when I was using aportable compresser to air my tires back up after a day of wheeling.

I checked the fuse behind the glove box, nada.
And it's the plug. I have used portable air compressors in the past and it was the fuse behind the glove box that blew, but I checked that and even replaced it, but it's not that.
Any other ideas?

May sound simple but - the wire may have come off the socket housing... ?

I for one am bummed that the lighter dosen't continue to give power after the engine is shut down?!?!

You can wire it so it's always on, just like anything electrical. You just need to put the hot wire to constant power instead of to the accessories.
