Anyways, so here goes. I have a 2000 TJ that the cigarette lighter is getting no power. And the the rear wiper on the hard top does not come on when you flip the switch. Now when I push the rear wiper switch down all the way for the washer you can hear the washer fluid motor come on, and the wiper will start moving.
My first question is, Are the two issues connected? I do not have an owner's manual, but I do have a Haynes book that I picked up yesterday. The Haynes book does not mention the cigarette lighter anywhere. And only shows wiring schematics. There are no actual location descriptions listed.
I tested the leads at the end of the wiring harness for the cigarette lighter. There is no power, even with the vehicle on. No, I do not smoke, but I would like it to work so I can run power to my Ipod and air pump.
I have found the relay that is shown in the thread I pasted in this post, but I have several wires already running to this. So I don't think I can jump it like they did.

This may sound silly but did you check the fuse? The fuse box is behind the glove box. When I got my TJ the lighter didn't work and thats all it was. As for the wiper don't have a hard top so no help here.
I looked through the fuses behind the glove box and under the hood. Everything looked good, but the thing that's throwing me off is that the diagrams don't show a fuse for the lighter. I saw on another post that someone copied and pasted a diagram that did show a cig lighter fuse, but mine doesn't. I'll go and take a pic of both the blocks and post it here.
I apologize, blame it on being a noob. Block 19 behind the glove box is Aux Power (Cigar Lighter). I must have overlooked it yesterday. But the fuse is good, although it is a 25 Amp fuse and the diagram calls for a 20. I wouldn't think that would do it. Here are the pics. If anyone sees something that looks funny, PLEASE let me know.
I think there is supposed to be a 40 amp fuse in the #15 position where it says accessories for the cigar lighter to work.
Also this is out of the manual:
"The cigar lighter base or receptacle shell is connected
to ground, and an insulated contact in the
bottom of the shell is connected to battery current.
The cigar lighter receives battery voltage from a fuse
in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) through the
accessory relay only when the ignition switch is in
the Accessory or On positions. Refer to Accessory
Relay in the Description and Operation section of
this group for more information on this component."

Thanks. That's one thing that crossed my mind as well. I figured I can pick up some relays and start filling gaps and see what happens.
Thanks for the info. I do have an ashtray, so I would assume it's a legit cig lighter outlet. But it could be an accessory outlet that works for both. So now I'm thinking it my problem may be the #15 relay under the hood. Thanks.
You may have hit the nail on the head. I never thought to check under that sticker. It so happened that that 40 Amp fuse is blown. I won't know if that's the cause until I get back from the store with some fuses. Thanks again.
