Climate control chaos

the climate control slider on my 98 tj wont go all the way to the left or the right..... so i have decided to investigate im not sure how to get the center dash apart. Has anyone had to deal with this before? Any tips for getting the center dash out? Thanks again WF

If its similar to my '00 pull the top dash vent out (it snaps in and out) find the 2 hex head screws holding the center cover on over and above the middle vents..take those out. Take out the ash tray, remove that hex head screw....give it a tug from top to bottom..and it'll pop off

Wow I bought my jeep like this and I can never use the air becUse it won't slide from hot. I really think the coil in there is broke.I figure it's like a pencil with a spring? ya I always just thought my 98 tj had tiny problems ironic other people experience them also. Does your left blinker turn on when you make turns sometimes or break after I go on a dirt road I break my left blinker goes on but doesn't blink. I read up it's one of those problems that people deal with until it doesn't work.

yea my ac hasnt worked since i bought it 2 years ago and actually yes my left turn signal does do that lol!
