climate control switch problem...

OK, so last time it was the blower switch that went bad now the climate mode selector switch isn't working. replaced it with a new switch and checked the connection of the vacuum lines and the control beside the gas pedal and at the manifold and those seem to to OK.

After installing the new switch the system started blowing out the dash vents only and now won't shut off no matter which mode you put the selector on (??????) Could the check valve at the manifold be bad and causing this ?? If so is it a dealer only part since none of the local parts stores seem to know what it is when I called about a replacement ?? Thanks

Nevermind......The problem was that the knob was cracked and allowing the metal sleeve inside it to rotate instead of turning the shaft on the switch like it was supposed to. A little superglue seems to have fixed the problem.

If you have a climate control issue that seems to be a broken switch check the knob to make sure it engages that shaft of the switch instead of just spinning around.
