Clunking Sound.....

Well i posted something before asking about a clunk in the right front of my jeep and i was never able to diagnose it. it happens whenever i go over a bump or i just noticed today that it happens whenever i take a left turn. i checked to see if anything looked loose but i didnt see anything. does anyone have any clue as to what it can be? And how can i fix it? its drivin me nuts.

i got new tires recently is it because of them? they are slightly bigger then my older tires but not by much.

thanks for the help

Grab the track bar and try to jiggle it. If it moves and/or you hear a noise, it's probably loose. Other things to check would be control arm bushings, which are not nearly as easy to diagnose, but if bad enough I'm sure you could grab them and move also.

Take a look at the swaybar link. The stock link like to come apart at the upper joint.

Ooo. Good one, that happened to mine so long ago I don't even remember to mention it anymore. That should be very obvious to see if it is broken at least.

This exact same thing happened to my jeep last week. got under the right front and started to grab and jiggle whatever I could and found the swaybar bolt was very loose, tightened several turns and its fine now. GL

Yeah that was my problem too. I heard a clunk every time I made a right turn. I had upgraded to 35's and before long, my u-joints were trashed in my axle. The sound was gone when they were replaced.
