Clutch Help

2000 TJ 4Cyl, NV3500 5 Speed. Needs a new clutch and the book doesn't tell much. Want to get parts and replace. Does this have a internal or external slave cylinder? Want to be sure to order correctly.

Your 2000 2.5L came with an AX-5 transmission, not an NV3500. Jeeps never came with an NV3500 but in 2000 the 4.0L TJ got the 5-speed NV3550 in place of the older AX-15 for several years until it got the 6-speed.

I'd go right to for a replacement clutch kit, get the standard (not Gold!) Luk brand kit which includes the clutch disk, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing and pilot shaft for $130-140. And your TJ has an external slave cylinder.
When you have a choice, buy American.
