Clutch Pedal travel

I recently purchased a 2000 Wrangler Sport. No problems shifting, tranny feels tight. Question I have is the Clutch engages after about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of pedal travel and re-engages about the same spot when I release it. Is this normal? Everything else seems fine, no slipping, chattering, RPM fluctuations. Just wondering. Thanks

Sounds like a clutch soon. It "wears to the top."
Should be about midway on the stroke.

It's no wonder the country is falling apart - stupidity abounds!

Clutches wear out?? My YJ had the original clutch at 200K and was still strong when I gave it to my nephew. And I bought it from a chick that must have been trained to drive a manual very well.
