Clutch problems

Alright so my throw-out bearing went last night. Made a horrible screeching noise when pressing in clutch pedal. So I replaced the clutch today and put everything back together, and now its messed up. The shifter wont go into gear. It feels as if its in neutral but yet it isnt. Its stuck in gear and wont come out. The guy who helped me thinks the new throw-out is in wrong or something. I have no idea what it is
