Coil Problem

I think I may have a rear coil on its way out. The rear of my jeep seems to lean to the pass. side. The shocks seem fine but i am going to change them since i have them but the coils are not available through parts stores. In looking for new rear coils I came across air bags that are designed to help coil springs. Much like tractor trailer and some vehicles that are equipped for towing. I was wondering if this would be a good alternative since i dont wheel much and the air bags cost about as much as coils.

If you have a 4x4 shop new you stop in and see if they have any take offs, should be cheap, or even free.

Why the rear passenger side? Any idea?

itīs because of the torque of the i6.
when the TJ accellerates the rear passenger side spring has to hold more weight than all 3 others.

OME lifts come with longer passenger side rear and driver side front spring to avoid this problem.

LIke Nico said, the rear pass spring takes all the brunt of the torque from the motor and weight of the Jeep. You'll even see it happen with cheap lift springs. Sometimes the easiest way to help is add a coil spring spacer, but the best method it to replace the springs with new ones.

I had the same problem. I bought newer springs plus a 2 inch BB and shocks for 60$ of a buddy that upgraded.

Well, I'm glad to see that it is more common than I thought. I found a set of used rear coils for 20 bucks on ebay so I will see which one is stronger of the 2 and put it on plus the new shocks i bought. If this doesn't work i figured i would buy the air bag system. $100 and i wouldn't have to worry about over working my springs when towing and such, plus a nicer ride. Thanks all for your help and expertise as usual.

by the air bag system you're referring to the air bag that goes inside the coil or a complete kit that removes the spring and replaces it with an air bag?

similar to this? to me it seems like it would greatly affect travel.

Sorry for the delay I have been waiting for my springs to arrive. Yes Tripp those are the air bags I was thinking of. So now that I have the springs has anyone just replaced their springs or is it similar to installing a lift?? Or can someone point me to a write-up at all?? Thanks for everyones help!!
