2003 wrangler. I bought it used and it appears to have had a 2 in lift installed but not sure of the mfg. Lower control arms appear to have been replaced but may be going bad. They look like they telescope but not sure. I would like to replace them but not sure what to get. I have seen some that are adjustable and some that are not. any suggestions ?
If you only have a 2" lift, the stock ones are just as great. If you plan on going higher, than what Ironhead said is right on.
All my stuff is wore out, thinking of either a 2" or 2 1/2" lift. I'll be replacing the arms with stock ones based on what others have recommended on here and affordability. Going with Moog.
The way I understand it, you really only need adjustables when you have a 4" or over lift. Hopefully someone will correct me if Im wrong.
I was looking at the price and if I bought all the arms it probably would be more than a lift kit that comes with all the control arms. The arms in the rear seem to matter due to the angle of the drive shaft
I disagree about not using adjustable control arms. My Rubicon has a stock suspension. Shortly after I purchased it, I took it in for a full alignment and it was discovered that my caster was out of spec. Since I had stock lower control arms the most cost efficient way to bring it into spec was with cam bolts. If you replace the control arms with the adjustable ones, that is a better solution to keep the caster in spec than using cam bolts.
On the rear. my jeep the uppers appear to be stock and lowers are adjustable. The cam bolts are normally used on front lowers but my front lowers are also adjustable. I Would think that is correct
