I currently am running an aluminum currie antirock on the front of my Lj. It make the most annoying creaking noises on daily driving. Very loud! It will do it when I'm on the trial, pulling out of a parking lot, or shifting my weight when I get out (I'm not a big guy either). I would like some help with what could cause this from someone who has this part on their rig.
You sure the antirock is the source of the noise? I'd disconnect the links and see if you can replicate the noise by hand, moving the arms up/down. Should be able to pin point the location that way. Only thing I could think of is checking if the cups are seated all the way into the crossmember so the arms aren't rubbing. For what it's worth, I've had my front coil springs squeaking on the rubber isolator before, after they'd been sprayed with tire dressing.
Take a can of WD-40 or similar and start by spraying one end at a time on the rod ends on each end of the sway bar links and then check to see if the noise still persists. That will help you narrow it down to the source of the noise.
I tried your suggestion and the noise is still there.
I will unbolt the links once it stops raining here in SoCal to see if that helps but I am pretty sure that the antirock is where the noise is coming from because it never made the noise before I installed it.
Do you ever run disconnected? Could it be a bad control arm bushing that wasn't moving enough to make noise before the AR?
