Custom 4 link parts

hey

i am trying to get some parts together to build a long arm 4 link for the front of my 98 sahara. i already have a 4"lift kit on so i am just going to put a new axle in the front and make some new links while i am at it. what i am need help is to decide on which end links should i use for the front end. i know there is alot of companys that offer different ends so i am lost on which is the best.

Check out Gen-Right. They have a 3-link kit for the front, which is just as good as a 4-link, and you wont have to worry about drive-shaft interference with the driver side upper arm.

Usually the oil pan/crank/engine is what makes it hard to do a 4 link on the front unless you stretch the front end a good amount. Drive-shaft interference isn't usually the problem.....

Do as he says though and check out Gen-Rite's kit and that is good example of the size tubing you should use and the type of joints if you don't buy their kit.

just an FYI, Genright doesn't make that kit. PolyPerformance makes it, Genright just also sells it. either way, it's said to be a great kit, and the Currie Johnny Joints are great joints to use.

depending on what axle you use depends on the type of front 4 link you can run. If it were me and I didn't want to stretch the front axle I would use a high pinion axle and run straight uppers with triangulated lowers. Works out pimp with great clearance. Do you know which axle you plan to use and how wide it is?

Dana 44

i plan on using a high pinion dana 44 from a 78 f 150 and then i am going to 4 link the back and use the 9in so i have matching gears. has anyone used one of these genright kits or does anyone have a custom 4 link with different link ends?

thanks for the help

I had Kenneth at Kore custom make my 4 link setup. My lower control arms are 2" .500 walled DOM tapped for the 1.25" shank Johnny Joints. My uppers are 1.75" .375 DOM tapped for the same joints. I had him tap a left and right thread and bought the matching joints so I could adjust them on the vehicle.

When I was looking at just re-doing my rig with the center section etc... I had I was going to use Johnny Joints also. Decided to go a different direction and the Krawler Joints that my RK setup uses are just as good IMO.
