cutting out 98

Members, I am in need of advise. I have a 98 TJ 4.0 Sport-52000 miles. For the last year when i turn the key to start the engine it will just crank. Usually after a few revoulutions i stop then turn the key again and it will start immediately. If held the first time it will eventually start but I hate hearing the engine crank for more than a few seconds. I discussed this with a mechanic at the dealer and he told me that those jeeps are notorious for having a bad valve in the pump and this allows the fuel pressure to bleed off. He recommended i change the pump and filters in the tank and assured me this would fix it.
Several weeks ago - before i changed the pump- my jeep began to idle roughly at stops and upon taking off it would cut out much like it was loosing spark but as soon as i pressed the clutch pedal the motor would rev fine. I kept tabs on this and found that it would happen at 1000-2000 rpm just after shifting, it would fall on its face. I changed the fuel pump and it ran fine for a few days but now more often it is happening again. I can drive the jeep anywhere at speed and it acts fine. running around town it acts like crap. Oreillys checked the OBD codes and their reader showed failure in O2 sensors, and injectors 1 & 6 failure - 2 & 5 failure and 3 & 4 failure.
Has anybody experienced this and can anybody help? thanks in advance

most likely its the crank position sensor. Its a fairly common problem in wranglers, and would probably throw a code for a cylinder failure.
