Cylinder Temp. sending hold? Bolts?

Hi everyone,
Trying to order a new head for my bro's jeep... Auto has 2 choices.. w/ temp. sending hold or without. What/where is this? Also, where can I find the casting #?

i think if im reading correctly its saying with a tempture gauge or not,, in other words do you want a after market tempture gauge going on ur cyl??????????????/
